Topglass 50 FR Plus

Fire Retardant Translucent Roofing

Introduction

Topglass 50 FR Plus is a Fire and Smoke retardant Natural Lighting System for use in Commercial and Industrial Buildings incorporating either a standard or a more advanced fire and smoke retardant resin system. Topglass 50 FR Plus will ultimately alter the flammability point of the sheeting, slow the spread of flame and reduce the amount of smoke thereby providing safer egress in the case of fire.

Topglass 50 FR Plus is a glass reinforced polyester fire retardant sheeting that has been specifically formulated using fire retardant materials for use in commercial building applications and educational institutions to slow the spread of flames and to reduce the level of smoke;
The sheeting allows the transmittance of natural light into the interior of the structure while providing a fire retardance at minimal additional cost;
Topglass 50 FR Plus can be specified for any industrial and commercial building that requires compliance to provide safer egress from a building in the event of fire.

Surface Coatings

Topglass 50 FR Plus is supplied with a superior weather surface film which has UV inbuilt inhibitors or our Silmar 100 micron Gel Coat surface offering improved serviceable life.
In specific applications and where minor corrosion may affect the underside of the sheeting, a Proprietary high sheen corrosion resistant surface can be supplied in place of the standard Polyester film.

Colours

The standard colour of Topglass 50 FR Plus is Neutral. Opalescent pigment can be incorporated where a heat and light transmission reduction is required.

Specification

The fire retardant sheeting shall be Topglass 50 FR Plus as manufactured by FGW Corporation in accordance with AS/NZS 4256:3.1994.
The sheeting shall be manufactured to conform with the nominated roofing and cladding profile in accordance with weight (g/m2) or thickness (mm) requirements. Installation shall be carried out in accordance with AS/NZS 1562:3.1996 in a workmanlike manner.
